“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." – Albert Einstein
Let’s go with the thought that everything is a miracle, as we begin our journey together!
Hello! My name is Mrs. Jill Flemming, and I am blessed to be a part of the new Upper School! This is a very important year of growing, maturing, and learning! I look forward to meeting you and having a great year of faith-filled learning.
This is my third year teaching at St. Mary’s School, but I am NOT new to teaching. I have 28 years of experience behind me with my last 17 years serving as a Catholic school teacher.
I teach with a flair for fun, yet provide structured lessons that meet Massachusetts State Framework guidelines. I am a teacher who believes that there are many different types of intelligences in the classroom and by providing students with multiple ways to take on a task, they will show their best performance.
Science and ELA are two of my favorite subjects to teach. I have experience teaching middle school science, and look forward to bringing a fun and hands-on experience to the curriculum this year.
I have taken multiple Science and curriculum development courses at Emmanuel College through the Carolyn Lynch Institute. I am a nature lover, a tree hugger, an avid birdwatcher and I love to explore how things work.
I live in Woburn with my husband Kevin, my son Chris who attends Rochester Institute of Technology, my daughter Kate who is a senior at Matignon High School and my cat Sophie.
I have interests in: gardening, kayaking, stage managing community theater, all things Red Sox, birdwatching, and travel. I am a second degree black belt in Karate; I also love to cook.
I am most proud that I sing with a group of 200 people by the name of Voices of Hope Boston, and we have raised over $500,000 for Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Resources by singing at a wide variety of cancer support-related events throughout the Metro Boston area. We had the honor of singing the National Anthem for the Red Sox, the Celtics, New England Revolution, and the Lowell Spinners,
One thing that you need to know that may have an impact on our communication is that my last name is spelled : Flemming. ( with 2 m’s )
